Intel Pentium II 233 MHz: the SL2HD archive entry

This Collier Computers entry was originally cataloged as an Intel SL2HD Pentium II 233 MHz. The recovered photographs show the Pentium II cartridge, its heatsink and fan, and the Intel branding.

A cartridge from the early Pentium II era

Intel launched the Pentium II family in May 1997, including a 233 MHz model with 512 KB of L2 cache. Its Single Edge Contact cartridge packaged the processor and cache components together. Intel's launch announcement is a useful primary reference for that context.

The old entry also recorded a 66 MHz bus and the part number 80522PX233512EC. Those identifiers are preserved as historical catalog notes. The recovered photographs do not provide a legible close-up of the S-spec marking, so this consolidation does not independently certify the SL2HD identification from an image.

Matching a cartridge to a board
